Spotlight

A deliciously naughty valentine to Paris, Fêtes de la Nuit celebrates life, love and all things Parisian, weaving together a pulsating collage of dance, music, language and drama. Set in a sidewalk café in 21st century Paris, Fêtes reveals that from first kisses to eternal bonds, a quiet truth remains: it is always love that makes us human. Fêtes de la Nuit, translated as “celebrations of the night”, sensually expresses the beauty, complexity and passion of the human condition in relationship to the divine experience of lust and love.

Kim Weild acknowledges Park Avenue Armory for residency in association with the development of this work.

A Special Announcement from
Charles Mee, Kim Weild and Jamie Forshaw

Fetes-Block

It’s the beginning of a New Year, a new decade and a new company! Kim Weild and Jamie Forshaw are pleased to announce WeildWorks and invite you to join us for our inaugural production and the NY Premiere of Charles L. Mee’s Fêtes de la Nuit at The Ohio Theatre February 8-27, 2010.

From Paris to New York

Director Kim Weild brings Paris to New York City with Fêtes de la Nuit. A deliciously naughty Fetes-Blockvalentine to Paris, celebrating life, love and all things Parisian. Weild and company weave together a pulsating collage of dance, music, languages and drama.

The company encourages you to experience the beauty of life in the simplest of pleasures, to allow yourself to wander and ruminate upon the perfect café au lait, a tender caress to the small of the back, a meal so delectable that you will tell your grandchildren about it and more… it asks “What is love?” and “What does it take to open Eiffel Towerourselves up in order to find new ways of communicating with one another?”

Through our online blog Spotlight http://www.FetesNYC.com/spotlight our actors and designers seek to engage you in conversation before, during and after Fêtes de la Nuit. It’s one of our bold experiments in which we hope your experience with the play extends beyond your time inside the theatre. So come check us out at: http://www.FetesNYC.com where you’ll find all kinds of information about us. We look forward to seeing you at The Ohio Theatre in February!
